The Graycote, built in 1881 as a private residence, is ideally located on a large lot on a quiet side street in the Village of Bar Harbor. You will be within easy walking distance of Bar Harbor's many restaurants, shops, galleries and ocean-oriented activities. At the end of a busy day you can relax in the parlor, on the veranda, or in the side garden in an Adirondack chair or a hammock. Free off-street parking for all guests.

At the Graycote you will be only a mile from Acadia National Park with its unique system of Carriage Roads 125 miles of hiking trails. Mountains, lakes, and coastline of unsurpassed beauty. You can get out on the water: whale watching, sea kayaking, canoeing, or taking a romantic sunset sailing cruise. Bird watching in the fields and forests of Mt. Desert Island is among the best in the eastern United States. Golf at one of the Island's three courses.

During the Season you can enjoy the active arts scene in Bar Harbor and elsewhere on Mt. Desert Island: painting, sculpture, professional theatre, and music - classical and popular.
